Regional Pool 2003

Applications are now invited for grants from this year’s Regional Pool. This year we expect to have around £50,000 in the Pool.  This is a larger sum than last year due to our underspend of £7000, which has been carried over to this year.

The Chair of the Interim Regional Pool Group, Mark Wood, is keen that we use our full allocation this year, if at all possible, and therefore urges all Branches to consider putting in an application.   Help with putting together an application is available if branches need it – please see below.

The Pool Group will hold their first meeting to consider applications in April, however bids can be accepted for consideration at any point in the year as long as there are funds still available.   Please submit your bid as soon as it’s ready and the Pool Group will be convened at intervals to consider them.

I would remind you that Pool funding is available to support Branch Development initiatives and applications must include a copy of the current Branch Development Plan, a copy of the branch budget and a copy of the Branch Annual Financial return for the previous accounting period.

Would you also please note that branches with large financial reserves (i.e. those branches whose funding has had a restriction applied due to the size of their reserves) are not likely to have their applications approved as they will be deemed to have sufficient resources to meet their needs.

Branches are encouraged to seek assistance with their applications from their Regional Organiser or Branch Development Officer.  Mark Wood and I are also available to help.

If I receive your application by Friday April 11, it will be considered by the Pool Group at its first meeting of 2003.

I look forward to hearing from you.  Please send your applications to me at the Regional Centre.
